SRINAGAR – Kashmiris of occupied Kashmir celebrated and cheered Pakistan’s victory over Sri Lanka in a cricket match on Tuesday.

The jubilant Kashmiris burst fire-crackers, waved Pakistani flags and raised slogans to celebrate the victory of Pakistani team.

Pakistan on Tuesday won the Champions Trophy match against Sri Lanka at Cardiff in a crucial Champions Trophy fixture that would send one of the teams packing out of the tournament.

Pakistan achieved 237 runs off 44.5 overs with seven wickets lost. Sarfraz Ahmed was declared man of the match.

The Kashmiris who watched the match live on TV took to Twitter and expressed their joy over the victory they termed as ‘Eid’.

Supporting the Pakistan cricket team comes naturally to Kashmiris who demand secession from India to join Pakistani state.
