ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s foreign office on Wednesday condemned two separate terrorist attacks in Tehran, saying the Pakistani nation stands by Iran and Iranian people in this time of distress.
“Precious lives were lost in the [terrorist] attacks,” a FO spokesperson said in a statement, condoling with the injured and families of the victims of Tehran attacks.
At least seven people were killed and several others injured in twin attacks on the Iranian parliament and Ayatollah Khomeini’s mausoleum in Tehran on Wednesday morning.
Iranian officials say they have foiled a third attack.
The so-called Islamic State group (IS) has claimed it carried out the attacks, which would be a first in Iran.
