11 killed as bus falls into deep gorge in Chitral

DIR - At least 11 people were killed and several injured after a bus swerved off a mountain road and fell into a deep gorge near Lowari Pass (or Lowari Top) while going to Chitral from Upper Dir on Sunday, local media reported.

As per the details, the bus went out of control due to over speed and plunged into the ravine causing death of ten persons including children and women.

Rescue teams and local people have started working to recover the wreckage from the gorge, besides shifting the injured to the near hospital, while emergency has been declared in DHQ hospital.

Lowari Pass (or Lowari Top) is a high mountain pass that connects Chitral with Dir in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
