Under Gen Raheel Sharif's leadership, Pak Army inflicted huge losses to terrorists: US Senator
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Chairman of the US Senate Armed Services Committee John McCain has said the Pakistan Army, under the leadership of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, has inflicted huge losses to terrorists.

“Under the leadership of General Sharif, the Pakistani Army has inflicted losses to the enemy at great sacrifice,” the US senator said in a statement about a meeting held earlier this week in Washington DC.

According to the statement received on Sunday here, McCain said: “I thanked General Sharif for his leadership and expressed my appreciation for the sacrifice of so many brave Pakistani soldiers in the fight against terrorism.”

The senator said the meeting was productive and informative to all members of the committee. “We value our relationship with Pakistan during these very challenging times.

“Our meeting focused on the situation in Afghanistan, the fight against ISIS, and ways to improve   coordination and cooperation between our two countries against our enemies. I hope, we will continue working closely together in the interest of both our countries,” he added.

Pakistani currency gains momentum against all currencies on April 16, 2024 Tuesday. US dollar was being quoted at 277.9 for buying and 280.85 for selling.

Euro was quoted at 295 for buying and 298 for selling while British Pound stands at 345 for buying, and 349 for selling.

UAE Dirham AED was at 75.4 and Saudi Riyal's new rates was at 73.30.
