LAHORE – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) plans to host an award ceremony to honour three former captains of the Pakistan team next month, PCB Chairman Najam Sethi said on Tuesday.

“We plan to arrange a special award ceremony for former captains Misbah ul Haq, Younis Khan and Shahid Afridi in September,” said the PCB chairman. “They served Pakistan for a long period and deserve appreciation.”

Sethi, who was elected as PCB’s 30th chairman, further said that best performers from the team will also be honoured at the ceremony. “We will honour and appreciate our top players and umpires in the same award ceremony to encourage them,” he said.

The board is scheduled to host a farewell ceremony for former chairman Shaharyar Khan, who was elected in 2014, tomorrow (Wednesday).
