KARACHI – Pakistan marked a historic win by beating West Indies in a Test series in the Caribbean for the first time under the captaincy of retiring captain Misbah ul Haq.

The co-players gave a fitting farewell to Misbah by winning the series, which was not done by any other captain during last seven tours to Pakistan.

Earlier, Pakistan declared its innings at 174 runs thus giving n overall target of 304 runs that could not be chased by the host country.

Pakistan’s Yasir Shah took five wickets in the second innings of the last test match and was declared man of the series.

RL Chase of West Indies, who scored an unbeaten century in the second innings of the last test match was declared man of the match.

It was the last test match of the career of legendary Pakistani batsman Younus Khan and skipper Misbah ul Haq.

Misbah has become the only Asian captain who won three Test matches in West Indies as he won one march in 2011 series and two in 2017 series. Followed by Indian player Virat Kohli who won two Tests last year. No any other Asian captain could manage to win more than one Test on West Indian soil.

He is only the fourth Pakistani captain to win his last Test, other three were AH Kardar, Imran Khan and Rashid Latif.
