BRISBANE – Pakistan thrashed Cricket Australia XI by 196 runs in the first ODI practice match today (Tuesday) at Allan Border Field in Brisbane.
Babar Azam scored 98 runs off 113 balls, while opener Sharjeel Khan 62 (39) and Umar Akmal 54 (39) half-century helped Pakistan to set a 335 runs massive target for Cricket Australia. Shoaib Malik also played a crucial inning at the end, scoring 49 runs.
Hassan Ali took three wickets while Shoaib Malik and Imad Wasim took two wickets each.
Earlier, Cricket Australia XI won the toss and elected to bowl first. The visitors set a huge total of 335 runs out of seven wickets in allotted 50 overs. In reply, the hosts were bowled out at 138 in just 32 overs.
