Peshawar beat Karachi by 44 runs to stay alive in PSL 2018

SHARJAH - Peshawar Zalmi defeated Karachi Kings by 44 runs in the must-win game to stay alive in the mega event here on Thursday at Sharjah.

The defending champions were propelled by a match-winning knock by Kamran Akmal, who hammered a 51-ball to 75, as they put on a formidable total of 181-6. Peshawar’s cause was helped by a stunning display of power-hitting by Darren Sammy and Saad Nasim in the final overs.

It is a do-or-die match for Peshawar Zalmi as they only won three of their eight games so far. Daren Sammy's men need to win both of their remaining two games in order to progress to the playoffs.

If Karachi beat Peshawar today, then the line-up for the playoffs and eliminators will be completed: Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators, Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings will be through.

But if Peshawar win today, then Karachi and Multan will have to wait until Peshawar’s next match against Lahore on Friday.
