Samsung announces refund, exchange policy for Galaxy Note7 users in Pakistan
ISLAMABAD - Smartphone giant Samsung has announced Galaxy Note7 refund, exchange policy for consumers in Pakistan after the firm was compelled to stop the sale of phone owing to burgeoning reports of it being burned while charging.

“Samsung did not launch Galaxy Note 7 in Pakistan but all customers who pre-booked the phone are requested to contact the relevant retailers to get a refund,” a statement on the manufacturer’s official website said.

“We request everyone with a Galaxy Note7 to back up their data and switch off the device” the statement added.

The firm offered two options for Pakistani users:

√  Replace your Galaxy Note7 with a Galaxy S7 edge and get a refund of PKR 10,000/-

√  Obtain refund*

Some 2.5 million of the premium devices had been sold worldwide that need to be recalled, the firm has said, and some financial experts opine the recall could cost Samsung nearly $5 billion in lost revenue this year.

Major airlines had also advised commuters not to carry Samsung galaxy Note7 while travelling due to risks of battery explosions. Pakistan's flagship carrier PIA also advised travelers the same.
