Indian guest house owner 'rapes' woman in her room

GURGAON (Web Desk) - A 21-year-old woman, working as an executive at a multi-national company, was allegedly raped by a paying guest house owner in the Indian state of Haryana.

The woman, a native of Ludhiana in Punjab, has been staying in the PG accommodation in Sector-39 area of Gurgaon city for the last couple of months.

In a complaint filed at Gurgaon woman police station, she said that her PG owner Dharmveer Thakran forcibly entered into her room on Friday night and raped her.

He also threatened her with dire consequences if she approaches the police, the NDTV reported citing Guragaon police statement.

The woman, after sharing her ordeal with one of her friends, approached the woman police station.

"Police have registered a complaint of rape and are investigating the case," said Deepak Saharan, DCP of East Gurgaon.

The accused is on run and a manhunt is on to nab him, the DCP added.
