WASHINGTON – US President Donald Trump said that India’s tariffs on products made in the United States (US) was “no longer acceptable”.

In a tweet, the US president said that “India has long had a field day putting Tariffs on American products.

“No longer acceptable!” he added.

US President Trump has already waged a trade war, involving tariffs, by putting sanctions on countries including Iran and China,

Earlier in 2019, Trump’s administration had stripped New Delhi of a preferential status that exempted products worth billions of dollars made in India from US levies.

The US is likely to engage in trade war with India after Iran and China over tariff issues as the US wants greater access for American companies to its markets.
