Sindh govt surrenders IG AD Khawaja s services to centre

KARACH – Sindh government has once again started efforts to remove Sindh IG Allah Dino Khawaja as an application has been sent to the federal government to terminate his services.

The provincial government has suggested three names, including Abdul Majeed, Ghulam Qadir Thebo and Khadim Hussain Bhatti, for the new Inspector General.

Majeed is a Grade-21 officer of Police Services of Pakistan, presently posted as Additional IGP, Research Development, Inspections and Enquiries. Thebo, another G-21 PSP officer, is holding the office of chairman, Enquiries and Anti-corruption Establishments, while Bhatti is Additional IG Traffic.

Earlier, AD Khawaja had been reportedly sent on forced leave by the Sindh government ahead of Asif Zardari’s arrival and so the authorities faced flak for intentionally sidelining an honest officer.

However, the Sindh High Court on a petition filed by pop star Shehzad Roy and others under the chair of Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah ordered Sindh government not to remove AD Khawaja from the said post.
