ATTOCK – At least six people, including two women and children were killed and more than 12 others injured after a cylinder exploded within the premises of District Headquarters Hospital on Monday.
Initial reports suggested that the incident took place due to a cylinder blast at Asfandyar Bokhari Hospital, as officials fear the death toll may rise further.
Attock Deputy Commissioner Rana Akbar Hayat confirmed that the deaths occurred after a portion of the hospital collapsed following the blast.
DPO Attock Ibadat Nisar and federal minister Shiekh Aftab reached the area soon after the blast.
Rescue services said that the cylinder explosion damaged a portion of the woman’s ward and multiple people are trapped in the rubble.
