LAHORE (Staff Report) – Punjab Home Minister, Colonel (r) Shuja Khanzada Wednesday said that the terrorists killed in Lahore three days ago wanted to attack the intelligence bureau headquarters on Mall road.
He said this while addressing a news conference in Lahore today, (Wednesday).
The minister said that four terrorists including Faisal Mubashar, Saqib Hussain and their leader Abdali were killed in the operation, while two terrorists were arrested from the spot, in injured condition.
“Al-Qaida operatives were involved in planning the attack”, Khanzada informed.
The home minister said that the head of the Al-Qaida in the Subcontinent is an Indian national who is residing in Afghanistan.
Regarding the attack the home minister explained that the terrorists received 5-months of training in Afghanistan before they were sent to Pakistan. Three of the terrorists arrived in Lahore by way of Wana, he said.
The provincial home minister further revealed that one of the terrorists killed was the head of Al-Qaeda in Pakistan.
He congratulated the law enforcement agencies for their successful operation against the terrorists.
