Huge cache of arms seized in Sheikhupura as police foil terror bid to target Lahore

SHEIKHUPURA – The police officials on Monday foiled a terror bid to target Lahore and recovered a huge cache of weapons from a car near Kot Pindi Das in Sheikhupura.

Following a tip-off, the Motorway Police intercepted a vehicle coming from Islamabad for search that led to the recovery of arms, including rifles, Kalashnikov rifles, pistols, and a huge cache of bullets from hidden cavities of the car.

According to Geo News, two suspects were transporting the arms and ammunition from Islamabad to Lahore via the Motorway. The accused fled from the scene after leaving the vehicle.

On April 15, intelligence agencies had foiled a major terrorist attack planed for Easter in Lahore. security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation near the Punjab Housing Societies in Lahore.

During the action, a terrorist was killed while a female suspect was apprehended in the operation. Four soldiers including two officers sustained injuries, while suicide jackets and explosive material was recovered from the suspects.
