Six killed in Khyber Agency suicide blast; over 55 injured

KHYBER AGENCY (Staff Report) – At least six people were killed and 56 injured in a suicide blast in Khyber Agency’s Jamrud Bazaar on Tuesday.

The suicide bomber struck near a local government office in Jamrud Bazaar area.

The injured were shifted to Hayatabad. Ten injured are said to be in critical condition.

Officials said a second bomb planted outside the office of the assistant political agent was found and defused about an hour after the first explosion.

Police agent Khyber Agency told the media that the it was a suicide attack.

Line Officer Tahsen Ullah was also injured in the attack, however his condition is out of danger.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.
