US wants Pakistan, India to hold dialogue

WASHINGTON (Web Desk) – The United States says it wants to see a reduction in tensions between Pakistan and India.

The US State Department Deputy Spokesman Mark C. Toner said at a briefing in Washington that his country encourages the two countries to hold dialogue to reduce tensions.

To a question, he said US National Security Advisor Susan Rice met the Pakistani leadership last week and shared out assessment of the sources of regional violence and discussed ways to return the region to peace and stability.

The deputy spokesman said it is in the interest of the entire world that Pakistan and India reduce tensions.
