I want to become interim PM, ambitious youngster moves court in Lahore

LAHORE – As the incumbent government of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is about to complete its five-year term and general elections loom, discussion for the caretaker setup has commenced.

As per the rules, a decision for the caretaker prime minister is taken after a proper agreement between leader of the opposition and the government in order to avoid confrontation with the parliamentary committee and the Election Commission.

Efforts are made to select a candidate that can work smoothly with the election commission in holding elections on time avoiding any incidence of a nationalist or a technocratic government.

In what appeared to be a bizarre incident, a young man today (Monday) moved a court in Lahore to become interim prime minister of Pakistan, Dunya News reported.

During the hearing, the court observed that the applicant had also filed the same petition in the past, to which, the young man said that previously he could not submit the plea on time and it was rejected.

The court has directed the applicant to produce the previous judgment before the court in next hearing.
