MQM lawmakers still receiving salaries despite resignations

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Following in the foot steps of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf the lawmakers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) are also receiving salaries despite their resignations as members of the parliament.

All the MNAs, MPAs and Senators of Muttahida Qaumi Movement had resigned in August this year as a protest against political victimization in Karachi operation.

According the National Assembly Secretariat the salaries of MQM MNAs have been issued salaries for the months of September and October as their resignations are yet to be approved formally.

Meanwhile the MQM spokesman said that party will return the salaries once the resignations of all lawmakers are accepted. The amount of salaries will be returned to respective authorities or donated to the welfare trust Khidmat-e-Khalaq Foundation (KKF), he added.

Earlier the lawmakers of Pakistan Tehreek-eInsaf (PTI) also donated their salaries of five months, the duration they remained absent from parliament after submitting resignations, to Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund.
