KARACHI (Web Desk) – After months of deliberations, Pakistan Rangers Sindh is all set to start their own radio show in Karachi from today.
“Assalam-o-Alaikum, you are listening “Rangers Hour” on FM 101. This is an exclusive programme by Pakistan Rangers, Sindh for the citizens of the Karachi – the financial capital of the Pakistan,” says the audio trailer released by the paramilitary force, Express Tribune cited.
According to a Rangers’ spokesperson, the “Rangers hour” will be broadcast five days a week from 8:30 am to 9:00 am and 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Listeners and the civilians will also get information about the Karachi operation and also share suggestions about the operation through phone calls.
According to Rangers officials, setting up of the radio is primarily aimed at establishing close interaction with people of the metropolis, especially the youth.
“In addition to the memories of the Shuhadas”, the FM radio will also be used to disseminate information related to the city situation,” said the Rangers official. “The decision to launch FM radio service in Karachi is taken due in view the overall situation in the mega city and the FM radio will be specifically designed to communicate timely reports.”
Following the launch of their helpline 1101 for the citizens to inform about crime-related information, this is another move to enhance their communication with the citizens.
A similar FM radio service was earlier launched by the Sindh Police at FM88.6. The channel provides information on alternative routes in case of traffic jams and also informs people about traffic laws and raise their awareness about them.
