LAHORE- It’s official. Kareena Kapoor has taken over for Saba Qamar in Hindi Medium 2. Rumors that Kareena would replace the Pakistani actress had been going around since early 2019.
The first installment of the hit franchise was directed by Saket Choudhary and released in 2017. It starred Irrfan and Pakistani actor Saba Qamar in lead roles. The film, based on India’s education system, went on to become a big critical and commercial hit.
Hindi Medium 2’ will be the first project for actor Irrfan Khan after he was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine tumour last year. Produced by Dinesh Vijan, the upcoming sequel will reportedly be shot in London and USA.
A source had earlier told the Asian Age, “While Hindi Medium was shot extensively in India, the sequel will be shot in the US. The story will revolve around the daughter, to be played by Radhika Madan, who travels to the United States for her higher education.”
Apart from Hindi Medium 2, Kareena will next be seen in Karan Johar’s upcoming directorial Takht and in Good News with Akshay Kumar.
