IG Sindh urges locals to use licensed weapon instead of keeping them for show

KARACHI – The Inspector General Police of Sindh has said that citizens should use licensed weapons for their security and should not restrain to showcasing them only.

The statement of IG A.D Khawaja on Wednesday came after a renewed wave of street crimes hit the metropolis.

Sindh Chief Minister had earlier ordered the Police chief to curb crime rate in the city.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi, the IG stressed the role of citizens in ensuring peace and said that the shooters of two army soldiers would not have escaped if citizens present on the scene of the crime had cooperated.

The IG maintained that 3 to 4 criminals are being nabbed on a daily basis whereas within a month, there have been 490 police operations around the city. He claimed that street crimes have been reduced in the city.
