KARACHI – A building located on the city’s busy Abdullah Haroon road in Saddar collapsed on Wednesday, injuring as many as ten people while many have been reported to be trapped under the rubble.
According to multiple media reports, the two-storey building was built on a nullah. The building collapsed after the nullah was filled with gas and a huge explosion was triggered, injuring as many as ten people.
Rescue officials reached the place and started a relief operation. Reportedly, three injured were also shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.
Assistant Commissioner South, Sajjad Abro said an investigation had been started into the building’s foundations. He said that lease of all the building constructed on the nullah had been cancelled .
Abdullah Haroon Road has been closed for traffic due to rescue activities, according to the police.
