Pakistan gets executive seat in UNESCO

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Pakistan has secured the seat of executive board member of UNESCO, said Minister of State for Education Engr Baligh Ur Rehman.

Pakistan gained as many as 135 votes out of 183 total votes.

Ina statement the minister said that Pakistan will now be able to get opportunities to contribute towards the policies of UNESCO in the domain of education, culture and social uplift.

The achievement is a sign of recognition of principled stand taken by the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his government on various issues of international significance, he added.
