ISLAMABAD (APP) – Secretary Water and Power Younas Dhaga has said that coal fueled 1320 MW power project in Sahiwal would start producing energy by the end of 2017.
Talking to a private news channel, he said this was one of the mega energy projects which would be conducive in resolving energy crisis in the country.
He said the present government was setting new traditions bycompleting mega development projects speedily. On his visit to Sahiwal Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif also appreciated the pace of ongoing work on the Project, he added.
He informed the coal fueled power project was being constructed near Qadirabad on 1001 acre land from which 35% work has been completed so far.
“The deadline of the project is December 25, 2017 and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is committed to complete the project in stipulated period.” To a question he said that nothing can be fixed without fixing energy crisis and improving law and order situation and PML-N government was serious in this regard.
He said duration of load shedding has decreased to great extent during last years.
