LAHORE: Leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Sunday demanded the registration of a treason case against Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP) Chairman Mahmood Khan Achakzai.
He felt that Achakzai’s statement in which he said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province was the land of Afghans was reprehensible and accused the Pakhtun of leading a lobby in pro-Afghan Pakistan.
Pakistan Ex-servicemen Association (PESA) also condemned Achakzai’s statement.
“Achakzai has no doubt grossly violated his oath as a member of the National Assembly and has made himself liable for trial on charges of treason,” it said.
“Absence of any reaction from our government and Foreign Office in particular, is highly intriguing.
They must openly condemn this statement,” it added.
