ISLAMABAD – Uzbekistan embassy on Saturday simplified visa process for Pakistani businessmen, said diplomats.
According to new policy, the embassy will give visa to entrepreneurs within a day after submission of an online request.
Talking to a group of Pakistani businessmen, they said reforms implemented in Uzbekistan had opened new opportunities for the development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
The new government in Uzbekistan had reduced power tariff and offered many other incentives to investors that could benefit Pakistan’s businessmen as well, they said, adding Pakistan could make efforts to start production of Uzbek agriculture machinery in Punjab and both countries could also work on establishing transport corridors. Uzbekistan was making equipment, which was equivalent to the European machinery, but it was cheaper, said diplomats Jasur Saidahmedov and Shukhrat Sh Zaripov.
