Two cops killed, DPO hurt in ambush near Quetta

QUETTA  (Web Desk) – In a Tuesday evening ambush, unidentified militants killed two policemen and injured the district police officer (DPO) Sherani in Balochistan’s Loralai district.

Levies officials said DPO Muhammad Shakir’s vehicle came under indiscriminate fire in in Spira Ragha area when he was coming from a meeting with senior police officers in Loralai.

The DPO and two police personnel sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to a nearby hospital and were later moved to Quetta for better medical treatment.

Reportedly the two constables succumbed to their wounds in Quetta.

The attackers fled into the nearby mountains in Spira Ragha after the ambush.

Meanwhile, security forces arrested a dozen suspects from Uch and Pishin areas of Balochistan.

The Frontier Corps spokesperson said security forces conducted a search operation in Uch area of Naseerabad district and arrested eight militants. Arms and ammunition were also seized from them.
