LAHORE – The British High Commission has announced that the deadline for submitting applications for the UK government’s prestigious Chevening Scholarships would be closed on November 8.
“The Deputy High Commissioner of British High Commission in Islamabad Patrick Moody urged the applicants to submit their applications before the deadline closes”, according to a press release issued by the UK High Commission on Thursday .
The scholarship offers financial support to study for a one-year master’s degree at any UK university and the opportunity to become part of an influential global network of 46,000 alumni. Applicants must have sixteen years of education and two years work experience at the time of application.
“The Chevening Scholarship programme sent a record number of scholars to the UK this year for post-graduate degrees and we expect these numbers to rise in the future,” he said
Hassan Shah who is a lawyer/social entrepreneur and a Chevening Scholar said:“The Chevening Scholarship was a life-changing experience for me. I would strongly encourage everyone who is eligible to apply.”
In addition to the one- year master’s, the Chevening-Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) Fellowship and the Chevening/British Library Fellowship are also being offered. The applications for the Fellowships also close on November 8, 2016.
