SEOUL – South Korean tech giant Samsung is rumoured to launch Galaxy S9 mini which will be smaller in size, sport a mid-range processor and will be priced just right to attract more Androiders.
Last week, a well-known tipster from China had claimed that Samsung was testing the Galaxy S9 mini smartphone with model number SM-G8750 in China.

Now, a benchmark of same model number SM-G8750 is listed on Geekbench’s website.
Geekbench listing reveals that the new smartphone is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 660 chipset with eight cores clocked at 1.84GHz. The SoC is coupled with 4 GB of RAM and preinstalled Android 8.0 Oreo.
In single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench, the Galaxy S9 mini has respectively scored 1619 and 5955 points.
There is no information available on the other specifications of the Galaxy S9 mini, however, it is speculated to arrive with Infinity Display design like the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.
Its display could be sized between 5-inch and 5.5-inch and it may carry support for 18.5:9 aspect ratio like the Galaxy S9 duo. Also, it is unlikely to feature dual camera setup like the S9+.
Previously, Samsung had released the Galaxy S5 mini in 2014 as a smaller edition of the Galaxy S5 phone. However, the South Korean company did not launch Galaxy S6 mini, Galaxy S7 mini or Galaxy S8 Mini in the recent years.
Samsung has yet to officially announce the rollout.
