Samia Shahid was murdered, confirms forensic report

SIALKOT (Web Desk) – The forensic report of Samia Shahid, who was allegedly killed for honour, has vindicated that she was suffocated to death contrary to the claims of her parents that she died of heart attack.

According to details, the parents of the deceased 28-year-old said that Samia died due to cardiac arrest and there was no point in her husband’s claim that she was killed for honour.

However, Kazim (Second Husband of Samia) stuck to his point and urged authorities to probe into the killing of his better half who was on her visit to Pakistan in July when she died.

Dr Shaukat Mehmood, the medical superintendent of DHQ Jhelum, said the forensic report confirmed Samia had been murdered. The report clearly stated that her death was caused by suffocation, having been physically stopped from breathing, he added.

It is yet to be established as to who strangled Samia to death and Police have not made any arrests so far although they interviewed Samia’s father, Muhammad Shahid, former husband, Chaudhry Shakeel, and a cousin, Mobin.

Deputy inspector general police Abu Bakar who was part of investigation team also confirmed that Samia was suffocated to death.

“The forensic report has been received by a three-member special investigation committee set up by the Punjab chief minister, and according to it, Samia’s death occurred due to asphyxia,” Abu Bakar said.
