RAWALPINDI (Staff Report) – The United States Ambassador to Pakistan Mr David Hale Friday called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif.
According to a statement of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) the meeting was held at GHQ.
During the meeting, both leaders discussed the matters related to regional security and mutual interest. They agreed to take up the bilateral ties of United States and Pakistan to a next level of cooperation.
General Raheel Sharif also extended his best wishes towards David Hale’s stay in Pakistan on the occasion.
Earlier David Hale on Wednesday met President Mamnoon Hussain and presented his credentials to formally take charge as US Ambassador to Pakistan.
“During his stay in Islamabad as US envoy, Mr Hale will be working with his Pakistani counterparts and the Pakistani people to strengthen American-Pakistani relations, increase trade between the two countries, further enhance our security partnership, and advance the broad agenda laid out by President Obama and Prime Minister Sharif when they met in Washington on October 22, 2015,” a statement from US embassy said.
