KARACHI – A shuttle bus of Karachi’s Dow University lost its control after the failure of brakes, killing three commuters on the spot, in an accident that went unreported on the mainstream media.
The university bus bearing number 10/29 was on its way when its break failed near the National Medical Center hospital following which it crushed three citizens and injured many others on the road.

The bus driver escaped the scene; however, the students riding the vehicle could not escape out of the moving bus and suffered injuries as well.
One of the citizens who breathed his last owing to the brake failure was identified as Sheikh Asif, an employee at a private firm.
When Daily Pakistan contacted the relevant department of the university, the administration tried to cover up the issue.
‘The video is fake,’ said an official before revealing that the victims suffered minor injuries. He also asked not to report this accident, raising concerns that it would bring ‘a bad name to the varsity’.
What exacerbates the plight of the victims is the fact that the accident did not get any media coverage, though social media users have stirred an outrage over the negligence of the educational institute.
