ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is set to leave for the United States on September 16 to attend the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to a statement released on Sunday, the premier will reach the US via Denmark instead of the United Kingdom. He will spend a day in Denmark to hold meetings with Denish officials.
“The Prime Minister will reach the United States on September 18,” it added. He will conclude the trip on September 24.
During his stay in the United States, apart from addressing the annual UNGA session, Nawaz Sharif will also hold meetings with several world leaders on the sidelines of the summit.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is expected to strongly contest the case of Kashmir in the upcoming session of the UN General Assembly.
