ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday approved the appointment of Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja as the chief justice of Pakistan.
President approved the appointment of new chief justice on the advice of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who had forwarded him the summary of ministry for law.
Khawaja will assume his new position on August 17 as incumbent chief justice of Pakistan justice Nasir-ul-Mulk is going retire on August 16.
It is also worth mentioning that Justice Jawad S. Khawaja included a differential note in recent verdict which okayed the establishment of military court to try terrorists.
