MULTAN – An additional sessions judge indicted the brother of slain social media sensation Qandeel Baloch and two others on Monday.
Judge Syed Muhammad Raza indicted Qandeel’s brother Waseem, her cousin Haq Nawaz and another co-accused Abdul Basit. A fourth co-accused, Qandeel’s cousin Zafar, has been declared an absconder in the case.
During the hearing of the case, police produced the record of the case before the judge.
The hearing of the case will be resumed on Dec 8.
Model and actress Qandeel Baloch was found dead in her house in Multan’s Karimabad area on July 16.
Qandeel’s brother Waseem was arrested in Dera Ghazi Khan later that night and confessed to killing her in the name of ‘honour’.
Waseem confessed in a press conference that he had drugged and strangled his sister, because “she brought dishonour to the Baloch name” due to risque videos and statements that she posted on social media. “I am not embarrassed at all over what I did,” he said.
