ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – The balloting of Hajj applications under government scheme is underway in Islamabad.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs received at least 2,80,617 applications out of which balloting will be held to select about 83, 440 applicants.
Hajj balloting was postponed in view of a writ petition filed by private Hajj organisers in the Supreme Court.
Minister of Religious Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, in a statement, said that the step was taken in view of a writ petition filed in the Supreme Court challenging the Hajj policy of 2016.
