CJP takes notice of abuse of power by a feudal lord in Umerkot

ISLAMABAD – Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar has taken notice of release of an influential feudal lord in a case of police humiliation in Umerkot, Sindh.

The notice was taken on media reports that Nawab Zaid Talpur forcibly entered Police Station, Kunri, District Umerkot and humiliated and maltreated the Station House Officer (SHO).

Reportedly, Nawab Zaid Talpur demanded the SHO to sit on the ground and speak to him, while he himself sat on the chair of SHO.

Following the incident, the accused persons were arrested but later on they were released owing to alleged political intervention.

Taking notice of the matter, the Chief Justice has sought the report from IGP, Sindh within five days.
