I eat beef and cow is animal like dog and horse not sacred as mother: Indian Justice Markandey Katju

VARANASI (Web Desk) – Former chairman of Press Council of India and retired Justice Markandey Katju has said, “I eat beef and I don’t consider cow as mother as it is an animal like horse and dog.”

He also termed politicians as thieves and looters and said that they should be hanged.
Katju gave this statement before media immediately after landing at LBS International Airport in Varanasi.

His statement went viral on social media by afternoon and when he reached IIT-Banaras Hindu University to attend a function, a group of students created high drama in protest against his statement.

Besides, another group of students burnt his symbolic effigy in front of Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth (MGKV) gate.

Reacting over Dadri incident he said that this incident should be condemned and accused persons, who killed an innocent and helpless, should be given vigorous punishment.

He said, “I eat beef and continue to do so. If you don’t have to eat I am not forcing you for it.

Entire world, people in America, Europe, Africa, Arab, China and Australia eat beef then are they all bad people.

People in Nagaland and Mizoram consume beef, how can you force them not to eat. Cow is an animal and I don’t consider it as mother.”

Katju further stated that Dadri incident is a part of vote bank politics and politicians are befooling people.

“Most of the politicians in India are ‘Badmash’ (scoundrels) and ‘Nikamma’ (worthless).

They should be hanged. They have looted the country. I consider these politicians as ‘neech’ (contemptible). The country will see a rebellion very soon.”

From airport he reached BHU to attend Film and Media Council (FMC) Weekend of IIT-BHU.

But, when he reached the function venue a group of other departments raided the place and created high drama when the hosts foiled their bid to enter.

The demonstrators were protesting the statements of Katju.
Another group of students reached MGKV’s main gate under the leadership of Pramod Rai and burnt his symbolic effigy.
