ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Islamabad Police solved the murder case of Anum, whose body was found bundled inside a suitcase in Sabzi Mandi area, Islamabad a few days ago.
Police identified her husband to be the suspected murderer on Tuesday.
According to police official, they had recovered body of a young girl bundled inside a suit case from Sabzi Mandi area in Islamabad, a few days ago. The girl was identified as Anum, Geo News reported.
CCTV footage of the vicinity showed a taxi-driver throwing away the suitcase, from which the body was retrieved.
Police, however, have unraveled the case and establish the victim’s girl’s husband to be the supposed killer. The young woman had secretly married a man named Usman Saleem.
The officials added, Usman lived in Saudi Arabia, while Anum was in United Arab Emirates.
He arrived at Islamabad on September 22 and asked Anum to come to Pakistan as well.
The suspect allegedly killed his wife after calling her to his friend’s flat on September 25, officials said. He packed her body in his friend’s suitcase and threw it under a flyover near Sabzi Mandi.
Usman had then gone to Lahore and therefrom left for Saudi Arabia the next day.
Sources said Usman was already wedded to another woman from whom he has three kids. Police had rounded up his friend, Basharat, on suspicions of having facilitated the murder, who detailed everything during interrogation.
Officials have issued red warrants for suspect Usman and contacted the Saudi government agencies for his handover.
