LAHORE – The University of Punjab has appointed Ms Sawera Shami as the acting In-Charge of Institute of Communication Studies.
Ms Shami, who is an assistant professor at ICS, took charge of the Director office after a fact finding committee, in its report submitted to VC, found Dr Noshina Saleem’s involvment in irregularities regarding Mphil and PhD programmes.
The fact finding committee comprises Dean of Social Sciences Dr Zakaria Zakir, Chairperson Doctorate Programme Coordinating Committee (DPCC) Dr Kanwal Ameen, and Law College Assistant Professor Amanullah Malik.
Dr Noshina Saleem remained the ICS Director for last three years.
Ms Sawera Shami, daughter of Pakistan’s renowned journalist Mujib-ur-Rehman Shami, was appointed as the ICS in-charge through a notification issued by PU Registrar Dr Liaquat Ali.
