PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan on Wednesday said he would take up the issue of Panama Papers leak on floor of the National Assembly.
“Panama Papers is an important issue. I will discuss it in detail in the (National) Assembly,” Imran Khan said while talking to media men here.
He said no one is going to accept the judicial commission constituted by the Prime Minister under a retired judge of the Supreme Court.
The PTI Chairman said they invest in offshore companies but fail to take the nation into confidence over the mode of transfer of funds.
“I can’t help thinking about the D-Chowk. But, this time the sit-in may not have to be as long as it was the last time,” he warned.
Imran Khan announced that the provincial government plans to introduce a Police Act in Khyber Paktunkhwa (KP) in order to give autonomy to the police.
He added that the police will work in accordance with the law and that the government will not interfere in its work.
He added that work is underway in order to introduce the Police Act in the province as a result of which, the police cannot be controlled through transfers or postings.
Khan said that his party and the provincial government aim to give autonomy to the police, not to make it subordinate and utilise it the way it is being in Punjab.
Khan said that police in Punjab the police is being used for political motives. He added that none will be able to strengthen their businesses while being part of the government in the province, further adding that the Accountability Act that will be introduced in KP will greatly decrease the province’s problems.
PTI Chairman said that the government and the Accountability Commission in KP have been completely separated from one another. He said that the final report of the Accountability Commission will first be introduced in the cabinet and then the assembly, adding that improvements have been made through the new Accountability Act.
