LAHORE (Web Desk) – At least 200 suspicious people, including 26 wanted criminals, have been arrested in different raids carried out on madrassahs (religious seminaries) across the Punjab province.
The raids were carried out in 12 different cities and towns of the province in connection with the National Action Plan (NAP), said Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanullah on Thursday.
Sanaullah said the suspects were arrested to hold an inquiry against them and would be released if proven innocent.
Hate material was also recovered during the raids, carried out in Lahore, Chiniot, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Jhang, Sargodha, Multan, Bhakkar, DG Khan and Attock among other cities.
