MUMBAI (Web Desk) – Bollywood star Vidya Balan is going play the role of madam of the brothel in Mahesh Bhatt next film.
Begum Jaan is an adaptation of Srijit Mukherji’s Bengali film, Rajkahini.
The central protagonist of the film that was played by Rituparna Sengupta in the original, will be essayed by none other than Vidya Balan.
Set to roll in June, Begum Jaan follows the after effects of the Partition in Bengal in 1947, delving into the lives of 11 women living in a brothel that finds itself divided by the newly-chalked LOC, with half of the house now in India and the other half in Pakistan.
Vidya Balan will be ruling all the eight as the madam.
