PM Nawaz may visit New Delhi on way back home from Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (Staff Report) – As Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is scheduled to fly back home today (Wednesday) after completion of his three-day official tour to Sri Lanka, there are speculations that he may make a stopover in New Delhi just like his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi did on Christmas Day.

According to senior journalist Hamid Mir, who is accompanying the premier during the Sri Lanka visit, several Indian journalists have been speculating that Nawaz Sharif will visit New Delhi on his way back to Islamabad this evening. However no official confirmation has been out yet, he said in tweet.

In another tweet Mir shared a picture that showed Nawaz Sharif planting a tree in famous Royal Botanical Garden in Sri Lankan city in Kandy. The premier was now flying to Colombo according to him.

Earlier on Tuesday Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif phoned Indian premier Narendra Modi and offered him assistance in investigation and action against terrorists involved in Pathankot airbase attack.
