German parliamentary state secretary for health Sabine Weiss visits Saudi Arabia

RIYADH (Waqar Naseem Wamiq) – The Parliamentary State Secretary of the German Federal Ministry for Health visited Jeddah and Riyadh on Tuesday.

Sabine Weiss participated in the 4th Global Ministerial Summit on Patient Safety in Jeddah. The secretary started the British-German initiative and also met the Minister for Health of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr Tawfiq Al Rabiah.

The talks focussed on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the medical field. In this context, Sabine Weiss met a number of Saudi doctors who completed their medical specialist training in Germany on  March 3 and the Vice Minister in the Ministry of Education, Dr Jasir Al Herbish, on March 4.

In addition, State Secretary visited a hospital and met representatives of a rehabilitation centre as well as Saudi Arabia’s G20 Sherpa Mazen Al Mubarak to discuss topics of mutual interest ahead of Saudi Arabia’s G20 presidency in 2020.
