MULTAN – The three-day celebrations of the 777th Annual Urs of Sufi Saint Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya began in Multan on Sunday.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the shrine caretaker, performed the ‘ghusal’ of the mausoleum.
On the eve of laying the traditional “Chadar” on the grave, a slight scuffle erupted between Shah Mehmood Qureshi and his younger brother Mureed Hussain Qureshi.
Devotees across the country are coming and paying respects to the great mystic.
Meanwhile, the district administration made strict security arrangements for the Urs. Almost all national and provincial departments set up their camps at Qila Qasim Bagh to facilitate the faithful.
The Urs celebrations will conclude on November 8.
