Strict security ordered at Punjab airports after threatening call from India

BAHAWALPUR – Punjab Home Ministry has ordered to beef up security at all airports throughout the province after receiving a threatening call at Islamabad airport from Rajahstan, India, a Urdu daily reported.

The authorities have issued a security high alert to all senior police officials including IG Punjab, RPOs, DPOs, CPOs and deputy commissioners directing them to take strict security measures at all airports.

The memo said a threatening call has been received at the control room of Benazir Bhutto International Airport. Considering the seriousness of the issue, the ministry has directed officials to ensure foolproof security arrangements.

Authorities have also issued another alert stating that a suicide bomber named Samiullah Ilyas Junai has crossed into Pakistan from Kabul with a plan to carry out terrorist activity.
