LAHORE – Two days ago Karachi police had arrested Pakistani artist Ali Saleem aka Begum Nawazish Ali after being found drunk at a party. It was not the first time Ali Saleem being under custody as in 2011 he was being jailed after hitting furiously his mother under alcohol influence.
After the news of Ali Saleem’s arrest spread among the audience our very own Meera Jee came to rescue of Begum Nawazish Ali. The actress tweeted in support of her friend saying:

“Ali Saleem is an innocent man,” the Nazar actor told the local newspaper. She further said that “The set was ready and our shooting was cancelled after the incident. We have no idea where Ali is right now,” added the actor. “Since it was a film set, there are certain props required as per the script. However, during his arrest, there wasn’t a single item that was deemed objectionable.”
“I’m still surprised why Ali has been arrested,” Meera Jee stated. She further continued “I would like to request the government to release him and arrest the actual criminals, not artists. We are innocent and hardworking.”

According to SSP South Umar Shahid, police raided a bungalow in the city’s Clifton area after receiving information of a kidnapped child.
Several people were taken into custody during the raid, including Ali Saleem. Liquor bottles were also recovered at the residence. The actress also revealed that she was also present at the place where police came to arrest Ali Saleem in civilians dress up while shooting was being gone on.
We hope that the former show host gets bail soon and get backs to work for entertaining us again with his great acting skills.
