PTI seeks to bring back absconding Altaf Hussain

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Continuing its verbal onslaught against Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Tuesday sought to bring back Altaf Hussain and tried under the law, by bringing a charge sheet against him.

Since Altaf is an ‘absconder’ and ‘proclaimed offender’, a red warrant be issued to bring him back to Pakistan to initiate appropriate legal proceedings, Faisal Wada said while presenting his party’s three demands to a group of reporters in Karimabad area.

The PTI also demanded MQM chief’s assets, including Nine-Zero be seized and that PEMRA implemented a ban on airing his speeches.

PTI’s candidate for NA 246 by-poll, Imran Ismail, who was accompanying Wada had earlier asked the Election Commission of Pakistan to ensure that presiding officers at polling booths were not from Karachi. “Officials from Karachi are prone to threats and that will undermine the credibility of the election,” he said.

Responding to PTI’s diatribe, MQM’s Waseem Akhtar, said “Imran Khan has lost his mind.”

“The whole nation has seen PTI’s “real face” when it joined the same Parliament it had been cursing for seven months,” he said, adding “their humiliation in the assembly was there for everyone to see.”

The PTI, he added, was a tadpole as far as politics was concerned and that there was no chance of a PTI victory in the upcoming by-poll in NA-246. “PTI will be wiped out on April 23, when the people of Karachi will give their mandate.”

Temperatures have been running high in Karachi’s political arena ever since PTI announced it will contest the NA-246 by-election after MQM’s Nabeel Gabol vacated the National Assembly seat.
